Founder of Islamic Leadership Institute of America (ILIA), and Youth Crisis Line, with over 30+ years of experience youth and leadership development and business transformation and project portfolio management. Has been providing Sunni Islam religious services at HCDC since 2007. In 2015 he started I Can Lead program at Howard County Detention Center (HCDC), where 4 cohorts attended the program over two years. He holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and a second Masters degree in Engineering Management & Systems Engineer and several leadership & management certificates. He occasionally offers khutbahs and classes at HCDC, besides his role in curriculum development and program management.
Has volunteered at his local hospital as a counselor, educator, mentor, and spiritual leader.
Has a background as a youth coordinator and a Sunday school teacher.
Holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked in various roles as an Engineer in the Nuclear Power Industry. Mr. Abir has been a volunteer as a Jumma (Friday) Khateeb at HCDC since 2019. He is also involved with Dawah (Outreach) efforts at WHYISLAM.
Holds several years of experience volunteering at MCIJ in Jessup, Maryland.
Rafia shah, joined ILIA as board of directors in 2021. She has been working with ILIA for past few years where she volunteered her time to teach Islamic studies to inmates in detention center. She has been studying under different scholars to gain Islamic knowledge which helped her to become a teacher for intenshia program currently running under Sheilh Amir at Darul Taqwa mosque. She has class of her own where she teaches Quranic studies and Seerah. She is a successful business owner which was featured in BBC Asia. She holds MA in Human Resource. She likes to volunteer her time to make a difference in the lives of today’s youth. As today’s youth would be tomorrow’s future.
